Southern Sun The Cullinan Relaunches Sunday Lunches

We are back from our one month hiatus!  First and foremost, we had to go through a little bit of nip and tuck!  I don’t know about you but the geek in me is absolutely gaga about the new site….Can I hear a yaaaaaaas?

It’s still a work in progress though and at the moment it doesn’t have all the components I want.  This is my first post and I’m still learning how to operate the new dashboard, so please bear with me.   I thought I would start off by letting you know what’s happening in Cape Town.  You do not want to miss out on this buffet.  Southern Sun The Cullinan is bringing back lazy Sunday lunches with special friends and family…

The hotel is now serving its new Sunday buffet inspired by the hotel’s Executive Chef, Lindsay Venn.  Enjoy the soothing sounds of the grand piano while you indulge in the sumptuous buffet selection.

Start off your meal with a wide array of soups, pâté, salads and mezze platters.  Mains include traditional Sunday lunch favourites, Roast Leg of Lamb with Mint Jelly, Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding and Lemon and Herb Spiced Roast Chicken.

Some other hot dishes on offer are Barbecued Beef Ribs, Bobotie, Penang Fish Curry with Cardamon-Flavoured Basmati Rice and Butternut and Spinach Cannelloni.  Diners should save room for the decadent variety of mini desserts: Panacotta, Crème Brûlée, Milk Tart, Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse, Lemon Meringue, Tiramisu Martinis and seasonal fruit platters. There is also a luxury selection of local and international cheeses with crackers, walnut bread and seasonal preserves.

Sunday buffets are a dream for the whole family. Kiddies will delight in some of their favourite lunchtime treats like macaroni cheese and roast chicken pie. And then there is their very own action station for decorating mini cupcakes, pancakes and waffles with ice-cream, cream, caramel or chocolate sauce, jelly tots, jelly babies and smarties.

The Cullinan Sunday buffet takes place weekly from 12:30-14:30. Price per head is R185 and half price for children under 12.  Complimentary underground parking for diners.
