Cape Town Festival of Beer 2014

This is an awfully late post but the Cape Town Festival of Beer was an awesome experience.  My friends and I had an amazing time.  Bumped into some old varsity friends and where there’s food, drinks and music there’s bound to be tons of fun…….

The 5th edition of the Cape Town Festival of Beer, which took place on the 28th-30th November and it was nothing but a massive hit once again.

The 2014 festival saw thousands of thirsty visitors through the gates to sample over 200 individual beers from more than 60 different breweries, more than ever before!

Festival goers had the opportunity to taste and learn about all the beers as well as enjoy a great entertainment line-up, delicious food stands, a kiddies play area and rugby on the big screens – all topped off with stunning weather!

A highlight of the festival on Saturday 29 November 2014 was the celebrity boat race between Team Dan Nicholl and Team Ryan O Connor with the glory and award going to Team Nicholl!

Congratulations to the brewers who won awards at the festival. The awards were won in SA’s largest independent commercial beer judging of its kind:

  • Best micro brewed ale – Devil’s Peak Kings Blockhouse IPA
  • Best macro brewed ale – Brewdog Jackhammer
  • Best micro brewed lager – CBC Pilsner
