Beverage News: Drostdy-Hof Wines Introduces a New Look

Out with the old, in with the new!  Besides they say change is good and in this case it is good indeed…….


South African wine brand, Drostdy-Hof Wines recently launched a new look for at a media lunch held at Chef Quentin Spickernell’s restaurant in Noordhoek, Quentin at Oakhurst.

Drostdy-Hof has taken the proactive move to revitalize its packaging, giving pride of place to the historic home in Tulbagh.  The change comes in the wake of a new positioning that sees the brand rooted in an unspoiled, wholesome but sophisticated country environment expressed by “pure country wines” tagline.

Guests were greeted with Drostdy-Hof Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.   A three course meal prepared by Chef Quentin (see image below) was paired with a selection of Drostdy-Hof wines.  Take a look at the menu together with the wine pairings below:

Sweet potato and macadamia fritters with mango, charred corn, coconut, lime and crispy ginger salad.

Accompanied by Drostyd-Hof Adelpracht Special Late Harvest.

Roast rack of lamb with a charred scrub –herb and whole grain mustard rub.  Served with beetroot, butter beans, grilled pear and a red wine sauce.

Accompanied by Drostdy-Hof Pinotage and Carbenet Sauvignon

Roast loin of kingklip with a lemon and hazelnut crust.  Served with citrus infused pan juices, spinach and roasted tomatoes.

Rose, pistachio, date and apricot frozen nougat

Accompanied by Drostdy-Hof Natural Sweet Rosé

Drostdy-Hof’s range of wines is available from leading stores countrywide and retail for around R30 for the bottled whites and R35 for the bottled reds, while the bag in box offerings are priced between R80 and R115.
